These General Giveaway Terms & Conditions apply to all free prize draws and giveaways operated by Alison's Attic unless a particular Giveaway Post expressly states otherwise.
Each giveaway will have its own specific information published in the relevant social-media video, post, caption or announcement ("Giveaway Post").
The Giveaway Post and these General Giveaway Terms & Conditions together form the complete rules for each giveaway.
By entering or otherwise taking part in an Alison's Attic giveaway, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by:
- these General Giveaway Terms & Conditions; and
- the conditions stated in the relevant Giveaway Post.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not enter.

2. Eligibility
Unless the relevant Giveaway Post expressly states otherwise, Alison's Attic giveaways are:
- open to people aged 18 years or over at the time of entry;
- free to enter;
- open only to residents of mainland Great Britain; and
- available only to people able to provide a valid eligible mainland Great Britain delivery address.
For the purposes of Alison's Attic giveaways, mainland Great Britain means mainland England, mainland Scotland and mainland Wales.
Unless a particular Giveaway Post expressly states otherwise, the following locations are excluded:
- Northern Ireland;
- Channel Islands, including Jersey and Guernsey;
- Isle of Man;
- Isle of Wight;
- Isles of Scilly;
- Scottish islands, including but not limited to the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland;
- other offshore islands; and
- locations outside mainland Great Britain.
Existing followers and people who become followers during a giveaway are treated equally, provided they comply with the entry requirements stated in the relevant Giveaway Post.
Employees, contractors or anyone directly involved in organising or administering the giveaway, together with members of their immediate household, are not eligible to enter.
Alison's Attic may request reasonable evidence of age, identity, residency or delivery address from a provisional winner before confirming the prize.
3. Giveaway-specific information
Every Giveaway Post will clearly state the important information relating to that particular giveaway.
This will normally include:
- the prize or prizes;
- the number of winners;
- how to enter;
- the platform and official post/video on which entry must be made;
- the closing date and time;
- any opening date where relevant;
- any limit on the number of entries;
- eligibility requirements;
- any giveaway-specific restrictions; and
- any other significant conditions.
These details form part of the rules of that giveaway.
Entrants must therefore read both the Giveaway Post and these General Terms before entering.
4. How to enter
The exact entry requirements will be stated in the relevant Giveaway Post.
Depending on the particular promotion, entry requirements may include one or more of the following:
- following Alison's Attic;
- commenting underneath the official Giveaway Post or video;
- liking the official Giveaway Post or video;
- sharing the Giveaway Post or video using the method specified;
- tagging or mentioning Alison's Attic where requested; or
- another clearly described free method of entry.
Only the actions stated in the relevant Giveaway Post are required.
Where following is required, both existing and new followers may enter.
Where sharing is required, entrants must use the sharing method specified in the Giveaway Post where necessary to allow Alison's Attic to identify and verify the entry.
A private, hidden or otherwise unverifiable action may not qualify where the Giveaway Post clearly requires a verifiable method.
Unless the Giveaway Post specifically allows multiple entries, only one valid entry per person/account is permitted.
Automated, bulk, fraudulent or duplicate entries and the use of multiple accounts to obtain additional entries may be disqualified.
No purchase is necessary.
5. Opening and closing dates
The closing date and time for each giveaway will be stated clearly in the Giveaway Post.
Where relevant, an opening date will also be stated.
Entries received after the advertised closing time will not be accepted.
Unless exceptional circumstances outside Alison's Attic's reasonable control make it necessary, a closing date will not be extended or changed after the giveaway has begun.
Alison's Attic will not extend a giveaway merely because fewer entries than expected have been received.
6. The prize
The relevant Giveaway Post will describe:
- the prize;
- the number of prizes; and
- the number of winners.
Alison's Attic prizes may include:
- thrifted items;
- vintage items;
- mid-century items;
- collectibles;
- handmade pieces;
- bags and accessories;
- upcycled or repurposed items; and
- other items connected with Alison's Attic.
Many prizes are vintage, thrifted, handmade or previously owned.
Vintage and pre-owned items may show signs of age, previous use, wear, patina, colour variation or other imperfections.
Handmade products may contain normal variations associated with handmade production.
Alison's Attic will make reasonable efforts to accurately photograph, film and describe the actual prize and any significant known condition issues.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- there is no cash alternative;
- prizes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- prizes are non-transferable; and
- the winner will receive the prize described in the relevant Giveaway Post.
If circumstances outside Alison's Attic's reasonable control make the advertised prize genuinely unavailable, Alison's Attic may provide a reasonable alternative of equal or greater value.
7. Fair selection of winners
Unless the Giveaway Post expressly describes another lawful selection method, Alison's Attic giveaways are random prize draws.
After the giveaway closes:
- valid entries will be identified;
- entries that do not meet the published requirements may be excluded;
- all remaining valid entries will be included in the draw; and
- the winner will be selected at random.
Where reasonably practicable, Alison's Attic will use a verifiably random computer-based selection process.
Evidence of the selection process will be retained.
Alison's Attic may also randomly select one or more reserve winners during the same process.
A winner will not be manually chosen because Alison's Attic prefers that person's entry or profile.
8. Provisional winner and entry verification
The person initially selected is a provisional winner until eligibility has been confirmed.
Alison's Attic may reasonably verify that:
- the entrant is aged 18 or over;
- the entrant lives in an eligible area;
- the entry was received before the closing time;
- all required entry actions stated in the Giveaway Post were completed;
- the entrant has provided a valid eligible delivery address; and
- the entrant has complied with these Terms.
An entrant will not be disqualified for failing to satisfy a condition that was not clearly part of the giveaway when they entered.
9. Contacting the winner
The provisional winner will normally be contacted through the official Alison's Attic account on the platform where the giveaway was conducted.
Alison's Attic may make contact by:
- direct message;
- replying to the winner's original comment; and/or
- another reasonable method available through the relevant platform.
Unless the Giveaway Post states otherwise, a provisional winner should respond within 72 hours of the first direct notification.
Alison's Attic will make reasonable attempts to contact the selected winner.
If the provisional winner:
- does not respond after reasonable attempts within the stated period;
- declines the prize;
- is found to be ineligible;
- cannot provide an eligible mainland Great Britain delivery address; or
- did not satisfy the published entry requirements,
the prize may be offered to a reserve winner selected through the same random process.
10. Scam warning
Alison's Attic will never require a winner to pay to claim a prize.
A genuine winner will never be required to:
- pay a release or administration fee;
- purchase another product;
- transfer money to Alison's Attic;
- provide debit or credit card details; or
- pay money before receiving their prize.
Giveaway communication will come only from the genuine Alison's Attic account or official contact details published on www.alisonsattic.uk.
Entrants should ignore and report imitation or fraudulent accounts.
11. Announcing winners
After eligibility has been confirmed and the winner has accepted the prize, Alison's Attic may announce that the prize has been awarded.
This may include the winner's:
- social-media username;
- first name;
- surname and/or county where appropriate; or
- winning entry where relevant.
A winner may ask Alison's Attic not to publish, or to reduce, identifying information about them.
Alison's Attic will respect such requests where reasonably possible.
However, sufficient information may be provided privately to the Advertising Standards Authority or another competent regulatory body where reasonably required to demonstrate that a valid prize was awarded.
12. Delivery
Unless the relevant Giveaway Post expressly states otherwise:
- prizes will only be delivered to an eligible mainland Great Britain address;
- standard prize delivery will be paid for by Alison's Attic;
- the winner will not be charged a fee to claim the prize; and
- Alison's Attic will aim to dispatch the prize as soon as reasonably practicable and normally within 30 days of the giveaway closing.
The winner is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Alison's Attic will take reasonable care when packing prizes and will use a postal or courier service appropriate to the item.
Where practical, tracked delivery will be used.
Vintage, collectible and fragile prizes will be packed with reasonable care appropriate to their nature.
If a prize appears to have been lost or damaged during delivery, the winner should contact Alison's Attic promptly and retain:
- the packaging;
- photographs of the packaging;
- photographs of the item; and
- any delivery information.
This allows Alison's Attic to investigate the matter with the carrier where appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Personal information
Alison's Attic may collect information reasonably necessary to administer a giveaway, including:
- social-media username;
- name;
- age or confirmation of age;
- email address;
- delivery address;
- telephone number where required for delivery; and
- information required to verify eligibility.
This information may be used to:
- administer the giveaway;
- verify eligibility;
- identify and contact winners;
- arrange delivery;
- investigate fraudulent or duplicate entries;
- retain appropriate evidence that the promotion was administered fairly; and
- comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Information needed for delivery may be provided to the relevant postal or courier company.
Entering an Alison's Attic giveaway does not automatically subscribe an entrant to email, SMS or other direct marketing.
Any separate marketing consent will be requested separately where necessary.
Personal information will not be sold to third parties.
14. Fair participation and disqualification
Alison's Attic may disqualify an entry where there are reasonable grounds to believe that an entrant has:
- used automated or bulk entry methods;
- deliberately entered through multiple accounts contrary to the Giveaway Post;
- provided false eligibility information;
- submitted fraudulent evidence of an entry action;
- impersonated another person;
- attempted to manipulate the giveaway;
- attempted to interfere with the random draw; or
- materially breached these Terms or the relevant Giveaway Post.
Any disqualification will be based on rules that applied when the entrant participated and will be handled reasonably and fairly.
15. Social-media platforms
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Alison's Attic giveaways are independently organised and administered by Alison's Attic.
They are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Meta or any other social-media platform on which the giveaway is promoted.
Participants must comply with the applicable platform's own terms, community guidelines and rules.
The relevant social-media platform has no responsibility for:
- administering the giveaway;
- selecting the winner; or
- providing or delivering the prize.
16. Technical problems
Alison's Attic cannot accept responsibility for an entry that cannot be received or verified because of circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:
- platform outages;
- internet or network failure;
- technical faults;
- deleted or unavailable content; or
- privacy/account settings that prevent Alison's Attic from verifying an entry requirement that was clearly stated in the Giveaway Post.
Entrants are responsible for ensuring that the required entry actions can be reasonably identified where verification is a condition of entry.
17. Cancellation or unavoidable changes
Alison's Attic may cancel, suspend or modify a giveaway if circumstances genuinely outside its reasonable control make it impossible, unlawful or unsafe to continue as originally advertised.
A promotion will not be cancelled or changed simply because participation is lower or higher than expected.
Where an unavoidable material change is necessary, Alison's Attic will communicate this clearly and take reasonable steps to avoid unfairly disadvantaging participants who have already entered.
18. Liability
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability for:
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- death or personal injury caused by negligence; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to those rights, Alison's Attic is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control.
19. Governing law
These Terms and any Alison's Attic giveaway are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive an entrant of any mandatory legal protections available to them in the part of Great Britain in which they live.
